Welcome to Arnold Week

This is the week of the Arnold Sports Festival. In celebration this weeks program will have a little flavor inspired by the Govenator. I started really working out when I was 15, my first gym was full of a lot of broken equipment in on old racquetball court. I would read all the muscle mags and think if Arnold did it I'll do it then I'll be that big and strong. Since those days I have learned a lot. I'm not the biggest fan of body building contests mostly because its not really objective. It's a beauty contest and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Arnold was a little different. He was so dominant that he made the subjective objective. There was little dispute he was the best bodybuilder in the world and he would outwork everyone. From a CrossFit perspective many of the exercises that comprised his work outs have little function. While I definitely do not think bicep curls and crunches are very functional I would like to add Arnold also did the functional stuff ( squats, dead lifts, presses, chins, dips etc) and intensity was never lacking, he just added in some curls and other non functional stuff.

So in celebration of the fitness world converging on the 614 we are going to be throwing out some of Arnold's best quotes (post your favorites to comments or your facebook status), favorite exercises and adding in a little bit of the non functional stuff. Check out what we did tonight.
